It’s hard to process millions of years of disease, death-by-exposure,
cancer, crippling mutation and hominids killing each other that
theistic evolution requires.

How do theistic evolutionist readers process this? When you start
trying to tie down the details (God divinely intervening with moral
perfection when he finally superintends the evolution of the
Mitochondrial Eve), it does start to sound strange.
